The commercial region of Zug has approximately 70,000 jobs, two thirds of them in the service sector. The well developed infrastructure within the fields of banking, trusts, asset management, law and tax consultancy and the exemplary tax policy fully meet the requirements of international business activity.
The city of Zug has slightly more than 25,000 inhabitants, is excellently served in transport terms and has a first-class range of leisure, catering commercial and shopping facilities.
The Zugersee, the extensive hills around the city and the nearby Rigi offer attractive local recreation areas.
Since 2004 Credit Suisse has calculated an annual quality of location indicator (SQI) which demonstrates the economic attractiveness of the individual cantons. In accordance with this study the cantons of Zug and Zurich are the most attractive economic locations in Switzerland.
